Keyanah Browning

Keyanah Browning, a native of Houston, Texas, is in her second season as a full-time assistant coach for the Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field/cross country programs.

She has coached three male athletes who hold top five record times in the 800m indoor at ENMU.  She also has two Greyhounds who hold top five times in the outdoor 800m for ENMU. Browning has also led the efforts in coaching Stefan Camejo who ranks in the top five in both the indoor and outdoor 400m races in Eastern history.

During the indoor track season, she led the coaching efforts for the mid-distance and distance crew. Eloy Serrano Borrego won the Lone Star Conference title in Albuquerque with a 1:51.80 time. He was one of three Hounds to earn a conference title at the meet. She also saw Thomas Aerdts finish sixth among conference foes in the 800m.

During the 2025 cross country season, ENMU ran at the south central regional championships for the first time since 2021. She coached the Lone Star Conference freshman of the year and all-LSC honoree, Chama El-Hadiri, who placed 13th at the conference meet. The LSC recognized Brian Norton as a member of the all-conference academic team.

The 2025 outdoor campaign saw ENMU send six different student-athletes to nationals in Pueblo. Both ENMU men's and women's programs snagged fifth place finishes at the conference championships hosted by Eastern. Browning assisted with the planning and preparation for the championships.

The indoor season in 2025 saw ENMU men finished sixth at conference and the women's program earn a seventh place slot. Aerdts earned a eighth place finish in the 800m in his first ever LSC championship.

Browning took a lead role with the cross country program in 2024. She began overseeing all recruiting and team efforts with her promotion from graduate assistant to full-time assistant.

Browning began at ENMU as a graduate assistant for Eastern New Mexico cross country and track and field in August 2023.

In the 2024 track and field season, Browning's efforts aided Eastern New Mexico women's track and field to a third place finish at the 2024 outdoor championships in San Angelo. It is the highest finish at conference in program history. The men's squad took seventh. In total, 11 Greyhounds had podium finishes at the championships. She saw Grizell Scarlett (100m), Timothy Frederick (200m), and Alex Williams (javelin) advance to outdoor nationals.

During the 2023 cross country season, she helped with team planning and practice.  The first-year graduate assistant coach also helped with the running of the 2023 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships.

Browning comes to Portales via Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut where she was a graduate assistant coach. She helped coach mid-distance and plan team functions.

Before her coaching career began, she competed at fellow Lone Star Conference member Cameron University.

While with the Aggies, she earned three top-50 finishes in cross country and ran five different events for the track team – 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x400, and DMR. She was a member of the dean’s list for two years at CU.

In her last season in Lawton, Oklahoma, she was able to begin coaching duties as she worked with sprinters and the distance crew during a period of time where an injury took her away from competition.

In 2021, Browning earned a bachelor’s in sports and exercise science with a minor in education from Cameron.
