Lloyd Daniels is in his first season as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program at Eastern New Mexico.
He came from fellow Lone Star Conference (LSC) foe Lubbock Christian (LCU) where he served as a graduate assistant during the 2024-25 season. During the campaign, he helped the program with player progress and scouting. He guided on-court instruction and focused on skill development. The Chaps led the LSC in scoring defense (66.1 ppg) and assist/turnover ratio (1.42).
Prior to his coaching experience in Lubbock, he played professionally for Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club from 2022-23.
Daniels played three seasons for Lubbock Christian. He was the only student-athlete to start in all 81 games for the program from 2019-22. For the Chaps, he averaged 16.0 points per game and averaged 35.4 minutes per game. He compiled a 64-17 record over his time for LCU and advanced to two NCAA DII south central regional semifinals. He is also the school’s leader in three point percentage (48.6%).
The Hounds newest coach was a three-time first team all-LSC performer and invited to the DII all star game in 2022. He led the Chaps to two Lone Star Conference titles and was a Bevo Francis award finalist.
Daniels played for Murray State College from 2017-19 where he averaged 18 points per game along with 4.6 assists per contest.
He is a graduate of Colts Neck High School in New Jersey where he was named the state tournament MVP during his team’s state title season. He also earned all shore first team honors among many other incredible honors. Daniels was recognized as his school’s athlete of the year.
