Shaun Rochon is in his first season as an assistant coach at Eastern New Mexico University, working with the running backs. An All-American playmaker during his own Division Three collegiate career, and an All-Conference selection during his FBS career, Rochon returns to the field to develop complete physical and discipline ball carriers.
Under Shaun’s guidance, the Greyhounds’ running back room is built on four non-negotiable standards: absolute ball security, decisive vision, relentless finishing through contact, and flawless pass protection. He brings rare, well-rounded perspective to the coaching staff, combining on-field athletic experience with 16 year career in strategic leadership, communication, and organizational execution.Â
Rochon’s coaching career began in Houston as the defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach at Houston Christian High School. While on campus, he helped design defensive schemes and several players earned post season accolades including an all-state selection. His commitment to coaching and athlete skills and technique development was recognized early in his career when he was selected to participate in the inaugural class of the AFCA/NCAA Future Football Coaches Academy. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and has remained an active member and volunteer of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA)— gaining extensive experience volunteering at the AFCA’s national annual coaching convention.Â
His extensive background in strategic planning, mentorship, and communication gives him a distinct advantage in managing a cohesive, high-performing running back room and connecting with student-athletes. Â
Before launching his career in coaching, higher education administration or entrepreneurship fields, Rochon was an explosive multi-dimensional all purpose quadruple-threat playmaker and versatile weapon everywhere he played:Â
