PORTALES, N.M. — After a record-setting win by the Eastern New Mexico University football team over Angelo State, sophomore running back garnered Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance. Eastern defeated the Rams by a 46-28 score and moved into sole possession of third place in the LSC standings.

The selection marked the second time in three weeks Cass received weekly recognition from the LSC, as he was chosen following the Hounds' win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. The last Greyhound to receive two LSC weekly awards in the same season was E'lon Spight (Oct. 13, Nov. 10), last season.

Cass scored three touchdowns and set career-highs with 28 carries and 188 rushing yards against an Angelo State team which led the Lone Star Conference in total defense. His performance paced the Hounds to a single-game record 583 rushing yards, just three away from the league's record, set in 1978. He scored the team's first two touchdowns and broke a 71-yard sprint in the fourth quarter for his final score of the day. He carried the ball five times on third down and converted for a first down four times.

On Saturday, the Eastern New Mexico University football team will visit West Texas A&M for the annual Wagon Wheel Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. MT.
