Marissa Torres made 10 saves for the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (1-4-1; LSC 0-1) against 15
th-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce (4-2; LSC 1-0). The Lions got on the board late in the first half and held on for a 2-0 win over the Greyhounds in the Lone Star Conference opener for both teams, Friday night at Lion Soccer Field.
Anitra Wright staked Texas A&M-Commerce to a 1-0 lead at the 31:18 mark on a long shot from the left side. Savannah Grasser added an insurance goal late in the half.
Anniah Galdean and
Jenna Sievers each had a shot on goal for the Hounds. The Lions held a 31-4 edge in total shots in the game.
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will return to action on Sunday afternoon at Texas Woman's University. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. MT.
