KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team improved its perfect Lone Star Conference mark to 9-0 with a 63-52 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday afternoon. The sixth-straight win boosts ENMU's season mark to 13-3 overall.

"I'm very pleased with the way our team responded in the second half," ENMU Head Coach
Josh Prock said. "We faced a ton of adversity late in the second quarter. Give Kingsville a lot of credit; they were ready to play today and they gave us everything we could handle. I'm very proud of this team and the way we bounced back."

Eastern was led offensive by
Mikaehla Connor with 17 points on 5-of-15 shooting while
Kassandra Harris added 15 points with nine rebounds.
Johna McClelland picked up 12 points in 16 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting.

After racing out to a 20-14 lead after the first quarter, the 'Hounds went just 3-of-16 from the field in the second quarter, taking a one point lead into the locker room. Out of the break, Eastern mounted a 26-7 run to essentially put the game out of reach early in the fourth quarter.

In the third quarter, the Green and Silver limited the Javelinas to just six percent shooting from the field, holding Kingsville to 1-of-16 shooting.
