Christopher Mesquita tallied his fifth goal of the season to halve a two-goal deficit in Saturday's Heartland Conference matchup against regionally ranked West Texas A&M (10-4-1; HC 8-3-1). The Eastern New Mexico University men's soccer team (3-12-1; 2-10) exploded for 10 second half shots, but dropped a 2-1 heartbreaker to the fifth-ranked team in the South Central Region at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium.

- With just 4:13 left a WT defender deflected what could have been a game-tying goal from Eastern's Nicolai Alstrom
- One minute into the second half, Mesquita found the back of the Buffalo net on a cross pass from Alstrom
